HT/LT Switchgear &
PFI Plant Servicing

HT Switchgear (11kV) is essential for controlling, protecting, and monitoring high-voltage power distribution systems. It includes Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB) and Load Break Switches (LBS).

LT Switchgear is used for controlling, protecting, and distributing low-voltage power (typically below 1kV) in industrial, commercial, and residential applications.

A Power Factor Improvement (PFI) Plant is used to correct the power factor of an electrical system, which reduces reactive power demand and improves overall energy efficiency. It typically includes capacitor banks, automatic power factor controllers (APFC), and reactors.

Substation Equipment Servicing

Focuses on the Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB). Servicing involves cleaning and lubricating the mechanical spring-charge gears, testing insulation resistance (2.5kV Megger), measuring contact resistance (Ductor test), and verifying protection relay trip functionality.
Focuses on the Air Circuit Breaker (ACB) and copper distribution bars. Servicing involves cleaning arc chutes, using a torque wrench to tighten all busbar joints to prevent thermal hot spots, and clearing out dust from the panel enclosure.
Focuses on power factor correction. Servicing involves testing individual capacitor banks for capacity loss (µF drop), replacing pitted or welded magnetic contactors, and calibrating the Automatic Power Factor Control (APFC) relay to avoid utility penalties.
